On the occasion of UNB's 225th anniversary, a new tradition was instituted, with students graduating in Spring 2011 the first to receive a commemorative coin inscribed with the UNB logo, [[University Coat of Arms|crest]], motto — ''Sapere Aude'' (Dare to be Wise) — and year. On the occasion of UNB's 225th anniversary, a new tradition was instituted, with students graduating in Spring 2011 the first to receive a commemorative coin inscribed with the UNB logo, crest, motto — Sapere Aude (Dare to be Wise) — and year.
