Throughout its fine history, UNB has had many songs and cheers that were created, sung, and chanted by its students on special occasions. Click here for a list of all the songs.

Lyrics:

You need sympathy, sympathy, just sympathy, You won't think we are free. You will not scold or say we are bold When we treat you tenderly, tenderly. Don't blame us, for you know we're but showing sympathy.

Note(s): It appears this song originated from a football game played by UNB against Mount Allison University circa 1914, when a member of the UNB band played the song "Sympathy" every time UNB made a touchdown. This song first appears in the 1921 edition of Carmina.
