Name: War Effort Committee

Previous/other names:

Prominent date(s) of activity: 1942

History: Organized to host events directed at collecting funds to contribute toward the Second World War effort.

Activities: The War Effort Committee organized a Victory Ball at the Lady Beaverbrook Gymnasium at which over three hundred dollars was collected, as well as a series of informal dances. The Committee also organized an inter-faculty competition, the March of Dimes, which climaxed on the evening of the Conversazione.

In 1944 the committee produced and sold luggage stickers to raise funds, which proved quite popular among the student body.
