History: The UNB Baja Team was organized so that UNB Engineering students could gain practical experience in automotive engineering.

Activities: The team participates in the North American Baja SAE, sponsored by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). To compete, the team is required to design, build, and race a small off-road vehicle from scratch, including the frame, suspension, steering, braking and power train, using a 10hp engine supplied by SAE, following a comprehensive set of rules and regulations also provided by the organizers.

Note(s): In one of the three North American races, the team's vehicle is required to be completely amphibious.
