Royal Visit 1967

Significance: Presentation to Her Majesty of the UNB president and descendents of Fathers of Confederation during the 1967 Centennial Year celebrations.
Summary of event: A presentation by Lieutenant-Govenor John B. McNair to Her Majesty of the UNB president Dr. Colin B Mackay and descendants of the Fathers of Confederation took place at Lady Dunn Hall. A luncheon provided by the Province of New Brunswick followed at which Premier Louis J. Robichaud presented Her Majesty with a gift from the province. The visit on campus ended at 2:30 with a departure for Odell Park.
Notes: After visits to Odell Park and Camp Gagetown, the royals returned to Saint John where the HMY Britannia was berthed. The Queen Mother was to visit St. Andrews and Campobello Island.
