Name: International Journal of Forest Engineering (January 2000 - present)

Previous/other names: Journal of Forest Engineering (1989 - 1999)

Prominent date(s) of activity: July 1989 - present

Role/purpose: Mandate to disseminate knowledge in all areas of forest operations, including the research and development, management, transportation, and engineering of wood.

Note(s): Published twice per year (January and July). The name change in January 2000 was a result of the wide level of international distribution and coverage by the publication, and thus have the name better reflect the focus of the journal. The founding editor of the journal was Jeremy Rickards from the Department of Forest Engineering at UNB, with an editorial board of international experts.
