Lyrics:
Where oh where are the verdant Freshman (Ter) Safe now in the Sophomore Class, They've gone out from their Bergen's Botany, (Ter) Safe now in the Sophomore Class.
Where oh where are the lordly Sophomores, Safe now in the Junior Class, They've gone out from their Analytics Safe now in the Junior Class.
Where oh where are the jolly Juniors, Safe now in the Senior Class, They've gone out from their Philosophies, Safe now in the Senior Class.
Where oh where are the stately Seniors, Safe now in the wide, wide world, They've gone out from their Alma Mater, Safe now in the wide, wide world.
By and by we'll go out to meet them, Safe now in the wide, wide world.
Note(s): In the 1926 edition of Carmina, the third line of the first stanza, "They've gone out from their Bergen's Botany" is changed to "They've gone out from their Freshman History". Earlier versions of this song can be found from 1881, 1898, and 1904.
