History: The Education Society was organized in 1935, when Dr.Wilfred Currier Keirstead recognized that certain topics of interest to Education students were not being addressed by the program curriculum. Bachelor of Education Degrees were offered at UNB for the first time in 1950, with Professor R. J. Love acting as Education Professor, and Head of the Education Department. The introduction of the Bachelor of Education program at UNB caused a re-surgence in the Education Society, which had become inactive for a number of years.
