The <span style="font-family: Arial;">Dr. Bernie Vigod Memorial Lectures began in 1990 in honour of Dr. Bernie Vigod, a professor of history at UNB and Associate Dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Research, and a lifelong advocate of human rights. After his death in 1988, the Dr. Bernie Vigod Memorial Lecture Trust Fund was established and funded the Dr. Bernie Vigod Memorial Lectures in Human Rights. Organized by the Atlantic Human Rights Centre, the lecture series is intended to further the cause of human rights in our society.</span>
