Prominent date(s) of activity: 1931 - ?

History: The UNB Medical Society brought together all UNB students considering entering the medical or dental professions to discuss important topics relevant to those fields.

Activities: Initially student members themselves gave talks on relevant subjects, but it was found that this activity required too much extra research work of students, so professionals were invited to guest lecture. The group hosted an annual dance to raise money for club activities; they watched films about medicine; they toured hospitals around New Brunswick, and they held regular blood donor clinics.

Note(s): In 1960 the UNB Pre-Medical Society ran a blood drive that was so successful that the Red Cross had to turn people away. Over half of the student population registered at the clinic. Aitken House won the inter-residence competition, "Best Bloody Residence," with a 95% turnout.
