History: Due to an increase in the number of students arriving at UNB from Bangladesh, local Bangladeshi students deemed it necessary to organize a society through which they could assist these new arrivals in settling in at UNB.
Activities: The society organizes activities to promote Bangladeshi culture on campus and around Fredericton, and provides a social network for members of the Bangladeshi community.
Note(s): In 2003, to help members unwind during the stressful exam period, the Bangladeshi Cultural Society arranged cricket and soccer matches. The South Asian Society was invited to join in these activities.
