Prominent date(s) of activity: 1978 - present

History: The Malaysian Student Society was formed in 1978 to help arriving Malaysian students adapt to life in Canada and on campus. The group also aspired to promote Malaysian culture to the surrounding community, and develop diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Activities: The Malaysian Society assists international students who are attending UNB, hosts events to promote Malaysian culture, organizes dinners, and plans social and sporting activities for its members. The society's annual Malaysian Cultural Night exibits artifacts, travel brochures, posters, and clothing from Malaysia, serves traditional Malaysian food, presents traditional dances, and puts on a fashion show demonstrating Malaysian clothing.

Note(s): In 1990 the Malaysian Student Society held their first annual badminton open, attracting 33 participants.
