A prize of $350 to be awarded annually to an undergraduate Fredericton campus student, on the recommendation of the Department of History, for an outstanding essay in Women's History. This essay would be part of a History course requirement. Candidates may be enrolled in any undergraduate degree program. The prize is named in honour of the first woman Speaker of the Senate. The prize has been funded by Dr. Gillian Thompson.
