H.R.H. Queen Elizabeth II and Lieutentant-Governor J. Leonard O'Brien leaving the Lady Beaverbrook Residence, UA PC 6 no. 30.

Significance: First visit as Queen Elizabeth II.

Summary of event: Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, dined with the Lieutenant-Governor J. Leonard O'Brien and his wife in the Lady Beaverbrook Residence, making her the second sovereign to dine in the mens' residence - her father being the first during his Royal tour of Canada in 1939. Her sister, the Princess Margaret, also dined in the residence during her visit in 1958.
