Previous/other names: UNB Rebels, Red Rompers, Red Spikers, Varsity Reds

History: Volleyball was introduced to the UNB campus in 1961, with both a men and women’s team competing. The men’s team was called the Red Spikers, and the women were known as the Red Rompers. In 1972 the men’s team name changed to the Red Rebels. There are currently both a Men's and Women's Varsity Reds Volleyball teams on the UNB Fredericton Campus.
