<span style="color: #000000">Erin Mouré was the University of New Brunswick's writer-in-residence during the 2004-2005 school year. Born in Calgary on the 17<sup>th</sup> of April, 1955, Mouré completed one year of an arts degree at the University of Calgary (1972-73), then won a scholarship to attend a creative writing course at the Banff Centre of the Arts, where she studied with Al Purdy. In 1975, Mouré moved to Vancouver where she continued her arts degree with a major in philosophy at the University of British Columbia. She taught at Upper Canada Writer's Workshop in 1984, and was also writer-in-residence at the University of Calgary. She taught creative writing at UNB for a number of years as well.</span>

While acting as UNB's writer-in-residence, Erin Mouré hosted the Babel Poetry Fiesta, a polylingual evening of poetry readings held on November 23rd, 2004.

Erin Mouré was preceded by Ken McGoogan and succeeded by Catherine Bush.
