Sue Sinclair was UNB’s 32<sup>nd</sup> writer-in-residence for the 2011-2012 academic year. Sinclair grew up in St. John's, Newfoundland, but has also lived in Toronto and New York City (before her current stint living in Fredericton). She studied for her undergraduate degree at Mount Allison University, and later completed an MFA in creative writing at UNB, under the guidance of Jan Zwicky and Don McKay. Sue Sinclair is a poet writing in the lyric tradition, thought she is also interested in the contemporary blurring of lines between different schools of poetry in North America. Her poetry most often deals with notions and depictions of beauty, informed by her interest in and PhD in philosophy.

Sue Sinclair was UNB’s 32nd writer-in-residence for the 2011-2012 academic year. Sinclair grew up in St. John's, Newfoundland, but has also lived in Toronto and New York City (before her current stint living in Fredericton). She studied for her undergraduate degree at Mount Allison University, and later completed an MFA in creative writing at UNB, under the guidance of Jan Zwicky and Don McKay. Sue Sinclair is a poet writing in the lyric tradition, thought she is also interested in the contemporary blurring of lines between different schools of poetry in North America. Her poetry most often deals with notions and depictions of beauty, informed by her interest in and PhD in philosophy.

She gave a reading from her poetry collection Breaker in the Faculty Staff Club at UNBSJ during her term as writer-in-residence, alongside reading at UNB's poetry weekend in Memorial Hall, and many other readings and poetry workshops for the community. .

Sue Sinclair currently works with UNB teaching in their English Department, and is co-director of creative writing, alongside Ross Leckie.

Sinclair took over from John Barton, and was succeeded by Joan Clark.
