Notes: The Status of Women at UNB (1979) identified the need for child care services operated or subsidized by the university. It was believed that affordable and convenient daycare facilities would allow more women students to continue their education. It wasn't until fifteen years later that UNB made a significant financial contribution and College Hill Daycare was created to handle the needs of UNB and STU students and faculty with children. The 4,000 square foot building was six years in the making, having originally been proposed in 1988.
