Role/purpose: The Canadian Journal of Regional Science began publication in 1978 at the Regional and Urban Studies Centre, at Dalhousie University under the co-editorship of Andrew S. Harvey and William J. Coffey. The journal often changes its location of production, and from 1993 to 1997, production of the journal was at the Department of Economics at the University of New Brunswick, with William J. The Canadian Journal of Regional Science is interdisciplinary, and focuses on the study of urban studies and the effects of regionalism in Canada, and is interested in disseminating knowledge about the field. Starting with the first issue of Volume 33 (2010), the journal moved to an online, open access format.
