Anne Michaels was the University of New Brunswick's writer-in-residence for the 1995-1996 school year. Relatively little is known about Michaels outside of her literary work, as she is unwilling to allow her personal life to take away from her work and ruin the sanctity of her texts.

Michaels was writer-in-residence for the acedemic year after Elisabeth Harvor, and was succeeded by Kenneth J. Harvey.
