History: The Black Student Organization was intended to promote unity among students of African descent, to develop stronger relations with the community, and to promote better communication between students of African descent and the greater community.

Activities: The group met to discuss black history, literature, culture and arts, as well as tutored children and fundraised for those less fortunate.
